Lake Jarun in Zagreb to Host the European Universities Rowing Championship in Late August!

This summer, from August 28-31, 2024, Lake Jarun in Zagreb will be the venue for the 14th EUSA European Universities Rowing Championship. The event will gather over 450 participants from 80 universities across 19 countries in Europe.

Representatives from the University of Zagreb and the University of Split will compete, proudly representing Croatian universities over three days of competition. The first day of competition and the opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 29, while the final races are scheduled for Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Live streaming of the event will be available for free on the official YouTube channel of the championship (@EUSARowing), and entry to the event is completely free. All races will be held on the regatta course at Lake Jarun.

Zagreb was awarded the hosting rights for this championship in June 2024, following Ankara's withdrawal due to organizational challenges. EUSA recognized Croatia's longstanding reputation for organizing university competitions and entrusted the Croatian Academic Sports Federation (CASF) with the responsibility. Zagreb is also set to host the next university rowing championship in 2026. The event's organization is supported by the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the Zagreb Rowing Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Rowing Federation.

Zagreb previously hosted this event in 2008, during the 4th EUSA Rowing Championship, which featured 426 athletes and 126 crews. Rowing competitions were also held during the European Universities Games in Zagreb and Rijeka in 2016, as well as the FISU (International University Sports Federation) World University Rowing Championship in 1998.

We invite all media personnel, rowing enthusiasts, and sports fans to come and support their favorites and enjoy this extraordinary event celebrating university sports and camaraderie!
